Ask anyone in Widemanville what our favorite time of the year is and they'll tell you it's Christmas time. We're all suckers for listening to Christmas music, just sitting around looking at the tree and all the decorations. Julie makes sure that when December first rolls around the Wideman house looks like a winter wonderland. I headed over to Atlanta to hang out with all my Orange peeps in the Rethink condo. It was a fun 2 days of dreaming and planning. Be sure and be on the lookout for some wonderful resources for the family coming out in 2016. If you are in ministry you should make plans to attend a Live To Serve event and make sure you don't miss THE ORANGE CONFERENCE. Check it out at www.whatisorange.org. As soon as I drovee home the celebrations started for my sixtieth birthday day of fun. Yancy and Sparrow brought over my own giant sixty mylar balloons and the party started. On my day of fun we included a backstage tour of the Ryman which was also one of the most fun and interesting things we did this tear. Whitney, Yancy, Sparrow & Julie know how to make anyway special. On my actual birthday Whitney took me to Porter Fea. It was my first Hipster Craftshow, several Nashville food trucks were there as well as tons of venders. It was just plan fun. The Alabama football team gave me my best birthday present by defeating Florida to become the SEC champions and get to play in the College Football National Championship Semi-finals onDecember 31st. Yancy had her last concert of the year on December 6th. On the 7th Julie, Yancy, Whitney, Sparrow & I made a fact trip to Birmingham to take my Mom out for a day of fun for her birthday. Sparrow wanted to share a Confetti push pop with his Great Grandmother. Later that week the girls and I continued a tradition we started when we moved to Tennessee. We got to attend Vince Gill and Amy Grant's Christmas At The Ryman. I think this year was the best one ever. Cory & Sparrow went to the hockey game. The next day Cory, Yancy & Sparrow flew out for their family vacations at DisneyWorld. They had a blast Sparrow was finnally big enough to ride some big boy rides and they all came back needing a vacation from their vacation. Julie and I drove out to Oklahoma for me to work at the church and for her to workon the cabin. The cabin is simply amazing. It is so relaxing and peaceful. I'm also so honored to be a part of Northstar Church. God is using our church to bless kids and families that can't pay us back and it's unreal all that God is doing. In the new year I'm going to have some exciting news about what God has provided for our church and can't wait to add that to the blog. We'll be back in Tennessee right before Christmas and enjoy our ninth tender Tennessee Christmas together. After Christmas we plan on just relaxing and enjoying each other before 2016 brings a whole bunch of new opportunities for us all here in Widemanville.
